Thought For Food Presents The Future Food & Agtech Innovation Extravaganza at MIFB

With the return to an in-person event on 6 to 8 July 2022 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysian International Food & Beverage Trade Fair (MIFB) is stepping up its efforts to address the challenges in the future of food.

Partnering with Thought For Food (TFF), MIFB and TFF will together present The Future Food & Agtech Innovation Extravaganza during the 3-day event.

This special exhibition segment will include the innovators and changemakers in the Malaysia food production scene today:

  • Vertical and urban farming: Greenbugs (indoor vegetable farming with no pesticides), Ripe Fresh (aeroponics), Toclan AgriTech (hydroponics), Future Farms (decentralised, remote-controlled farms).
  • Alternative and insect protein:Entomal Biotech (biowaste treatment and organic by-product upcycling, eco-friendly dietary pet food), TripleVs (turning palm oil by-products into alternative aquafeed), Life Origin (black soldier fly larvae as pet feed and supplying feed mills)
  • Plant-based: PHUTURE (connecting the science of technology to the art of Asian cooking), Metier Food (Snappea as Asia’s first plant-based milk made from 100% non-GMO Canadian yellow peas), Pǐnxīn (use of healthier alternative ingredients in vegan cuisines)
  • Smart farming systems and automation: Agrisense (use of IoT for better crop management)
  • Sustainable aquaculture: Borneo Eco Fish (specialists in production of Red Fish Tilapia), GK AQUA (use of biotechnology to improve freshwater prawn farming efficiency)
  • Education, Research and Development Institutions: Taylor’s University, AIMST University, University Malaysia Sabah
  • Other participating organisations: Cocoworld (vegan, non-GMO coconut products), Ricestraws (biodegradable straws from broken rich flour and tapioca starch), RFM (Terung Asam or sour eggplant pickles), Meliponie (natural stingless bee honey products), Eartheories (homegrown lemongrass products), PWD Smart Farmability (social enterprise empowering Malaysia’s disabled community through regenerative agriculture principles), PichaEats (is an impact-driven catering company that partners with chefs from displaced communities).
